Pam Hogg was in her element last night as her friends gathered to celebrate the opening of her revived store in Newburgh Street. Adorned in lycra cat suits the group took a trip down Pam Hogg memory lane with the basement hosting old footage of Hogg at her previous Newburgh Street shop projected onto the walls. The shop is selling her recent collections of Hogg Couture, revival pieces, printed I-con tees as well as Pam Hogg memorabilia in the form of kitsch mugs and commemorative plates. There will also be signed copies of Hoggdoll’s latest CD.
Open for one month only at 9 Newburgh Street W1F

I love pinatas. I have been gifted a green crocodile shaped pinata and a yellow rubber (paper mache) duckie before but now I want one of these. Nicholas Andersen and Julie Ho of Cofetti System are art school graduates who have a current knack at creating some high brow pinatas. From their Brooklyn based studio the party loving pair have already made a special pinata for their creative friend Karen O’s last birthday bash and are currently celebrating the success of their window display in Opening Ceremony over the Cinco de Mayo festival.“There are those who buy them just for decoration,” said Ms. Ho, who is also at work on a line of silk slumber-party wear. “But the best part is breaking them open, and that beautiful storm of color comes out.”

I, like many others I suspect, have always been hugely fascinated by Karl Lagerfeld. It’s hard to pinpoint exactly what is so beguiling about him aside from his unquestionable design genius; maybe it’s the fact that he’s had a ponytail pretty much for as long as he’s been alive, maybe it’s that he likes to get around by Hummer limousine, maybe it’s that even though by rights he should be petrifyingly scary, those Olsen twins always look like they have such a good time with him…Anyway, check out Karl being interviewed by model Sigrid Agren, talking about his unruly morning hair, amongst other things – it’s at Interview.

New Zealand artist Will Handley and designer Elizabeth Wilson are behind the new t-shirt brand Dermit & Horn. The 100% premium cotton t-shirts featuring subtly subversive graphics are the result of the pair’s tireless quest to find the perfect t-shirt. Kittens, birds and mice are the subjects of Dermit & Horn’s first collection although they are not as meek as they might first sound; there is an ‘air of the absurd’ around the art inspired illustrations. You can never have too many t-shirts…check them out at Fabric, Wunderkammer, and Plume.
These are cute. Block plastic coloured Nike High Dunks in collaboration with Nylon Magazine. Featuring a nylon/leather upper, they kept the rest of the sneaker simple and tonal, which works out really nice. The Nylon font logo goes over the entire sneaker, but one has to look close to even notice it. The Swoosh and other details come in leather, and the lining matches the upper leather colors. A multicolor Nylon logo has been placed on the tongue tag.
Set to release very soon. Behind the scenes look at the Nylon photo shoot after the jump.

It seems to be everywhere on the internet at the moment. The California music festival Coachella has been stirring the fact that the magnificent Hedi Slimane was present at the West Coast do. Now showing on his website here are his favourite snaps he took at the festival. Word was that he was scouting….. best behaviour please. The photographs are beautiful and in full Slimane style they showcase a demanding generation who’s voices are eager to experience the culture of Coachella, and everything that comes with that, with their arms wide open.
I have just come across what could possibly be the best new street fashion site I have ever seen. Jak And Jil is a series of fantastic street shots from around the world that cover the latest and greatest looks of the season. It does help that most of those shot are from the worlds main fashion houses and runway shows, but hey, it is still a great perve into the world of the rich and the beautiful. A wonderfully designed blog too. You must have a look. Im sure this will become a regular check in my daily wander through the internet.
